WHITE DENDROBIUM ORCHID
Arranging White Orchids: The Aztecs first discovered the
orchid plant in Mexico. In 1739 orchids became popular in English
gardens, and by the 1800s the orchids were widely sought after.
Today, orchids are most popular for their beauty, unique structure,
and innate beauty. Of all orchids, Dendrobiums are the most sought
after, and are most often associated with anniversaries. White Dendrobiums
symbolize purity, good health, and good spirits, and are a perfect
gift for any auspicious or momentous occasion. White Dendrobiums
last long, are easy to arrange, and add elegance and beauty to any
setting.
Dendrobium Orchid Care Tips: Orchids need special
care, and they will last long when they are kept in water. When
buying orchids, the stems may come in a water tube or wrapped in
wet cotton wool. This should be removed, and the stems re-cut and
placed in fresh water with flower food as soon as possible. Orchids
should be kept away from heat and draughts that cause loss of moisture.
Frequent misting of the flowers with water is recommended. Orchids
should also be kept away from fruit, vegetables and decaying flowers,
as they are susceptible to ethylene gas.
