ROSE FLOWER BOUQUET CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut the bottom of the rose bouquet stems diagonally under running water, using a sharp knife
   WHY? This increases the surface area of the flower stem underwater, and allows the fresh rose bouquet to draw in water instead of air
2. Remove all the leaves that fall below the water line.
   WHY? These leaves breakdown and decay, which promotes bacterial growth, which can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water
3. Arrange your rose bouquet in a vase with lukewarm water mixed with the first packet of flower food
   WHY?   This will help the closed flower buds to start opening and help to prolong the life and beauty of your rose bouquet
4. Place your rose bouquet in a location away from direct sunlight, electrical appliances and drafts.
   WHY? Temperature is key to the lifespan of roses. Appliances such as televisions give off heat, causing rose bouquet to dehydrate.
5. On the 3rd Day - Re-cut stems, replace vase with fresh water adding the 2nd packet of flower food while removing any fading rose flowers.
   WHY? This helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your rose bouquet.

Revive Wilted Roses: Our rose bouquets are shipped in bud form with the outer guard petal left on to protect the rose during shipment. Your rose flower bouquet is shipped direct from the source to you overnight via fed ex. This long journey may cause your rose bouquet to appear tired and thirsty upon arrival. Below are some tricks of the trade to revive prematurely wilted roses.

If possible, leave your rose bouquet in a cool room or refrigerator to "condition" for two to four hours before arranging. Bottled water is preferred as softened water shortens the life of a rose.

Premature wilting: Premature wilting is not a sign that the rose is old. It sometimes occurs if the bud has been cut before sufficiently mature, or if a cut has been made through the bark, or the bark has been scraped. Also, wilting occurs when leaves decay under water. Cut off the rose stem above the damaged place, or take away leaves and cut off 1/2 inch of stem. Then allow the entire rose flower to float in a tub (bathtub) of deep warm water for a couple of hours. When it revives, place the rose bouquet back in the vase arrangement. Another option is to remove the rose head and let it float in a water filled bowl.
