Purple Iris Care Instructions: When arranging Irises, make sure to leave room for the flowers to fully open. Irises may arrive as tight buds. But they will open quickly and mature to open form within a day or two. Keep water levels full and bacteria free to optimize vase life. The flowers can be manually opened by peeling the sheath backwards approximately halfway down the bud. Do NOT bump the tips of the irises.
