October Birthday Flower: Calendula

People born in October seem to have a steadfast and winning grace about them and are represented by a flower that celebrates that characteristic.   While a member of the Asteraceae Family the Calendula is referred to as the "pot marigold." This flower gets its name from the Latin word meaning: "through the months."   Calendula blossoms are hugely medicinal and have been recognized as such for centuries.
