Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemum or often popularly referred to as mums are members of the daisy family. Although ancient growers would not recognize modern Chrysanthemums, while some mums still resemble daisies, others are far more showy. Since the chrysanthemum was first introduced into the United States during colonial times, its popularity has grown such that chrysanthemums now reign as undisputed "Queen of the Fall Flowers."

CHRYSANTHEMUM

About the Chrysanthemum
: Chrysanthemums, often popularly referred to as mums, belong to the daisy family. They were introduced in the United States during colonial times, and have become so popular that they are now known as the "Queen of the Fall Flowers." The name “Chrysanthemum” comes from the Greek word, “chrysos,” meaning “gold.” These flowers have played a significant role in Japanese and Chinese cultures. In Germany, the Chrysanthemum decorates homes on Christmas Eve, in connection with the birth of Christ. Chrysanthemums today exist in many colors and combinations, and are available in some divine colors like amazing lime green or stunning burnt russet.

Arranging and Caring for Chrysanthemums:
• Chrysanthemums easily last for two to three weeks if kept in fresh water.
• Replenish with flower food every 1-2 days.
• Remove any drooping or damaged buds to ensure the rest of the head keeps its freshness.
